Daily activity budget

A stacked bar per day of how many hours the flock spent grazing, walking, ruminating, resting and otherwise active. Healthy budgets are remarkably stable — what you’re looking for is the day the stack changes shape: grazing hours collapsing, resting stretching, rumination thinning.

The diel chart stacks the same behaviours by hour of day (minutes per day at 0:00, 1:00, …). Sheep are crepuscular — grazing should peak around dawn and dusk. A flat or shifted pattern is worth a look: heat stress pushes grazing into the night, and disturbance shows up as broken rest blocks. Use the range filter (7 / 14 / 30 days) to separate a one-off odd day from a trend.
