Drone Missions turns the farm map into a flight planner: waypoint routes that launch from a drone base, do useful work at each waypoint (photos, video, hover, orbit), and land back at the base. Flights are simulated today; a dock integration flies the same missions and lands its media in the same library.

The map

Saved missions draw as dashed routes with numbered waypoints; click a mission name in the table to focus the map on just that route. Drone bases show as 🛸 markers. During a live flight you’ll see the drone itself moving along the route — phase, current waypoint, altitude, battery and ETA in its popup — and for alert-response flights, a 🎯 marker on the animal’s last known location.

Missions

Every mission has a kind — Flock check, Recon, Alert response (plus the system-managed Drone Response mission used by alert rules) — a base, and a route summary (waypoints · distance · altitude). Anyone on the farm team can:
  • Fly — queue the mission now. The button reads In flight until it’s done.
  • Download KML (Google Earth, Litchi) or DJI KMZ (Pilot 2 wayline) from the row’s ⋯ menu — so the same route can be flown by a real aircraft.
Planning is an Admin job: Locate drone base first (missions need somewhere to take off and land), then New mission — name, kind, base, altitude and speed — then click waypoints onto the map and set per-waypoint actions (take photo, start / stop video, hover, orbit) with hold times and altitudes.

Flight Log

The flight log: run status, trigger, live progress and per-stage breakdown
The Flight Log records every run: status (queued, in progress, completed, aborted, failed), what triggered it (manual or alert #N — red badge for automated response flights), live progress while airborne, and duration. Expand a row for the per-stage breakdown (↑ takeoff, → legs, ↓ landing, with battery draw per stage) and thumbnails of anything captured. Any user can Abort a queued or in-progress run.
If the banner says the simulator service is offline, queued missions wait on the ground until it’s back — an Admin can check it from the Simulator page.
