The Watchlist is the shepherd’s morning list: every tagged animal ranked worst-first on the last 24 hours, so the first animal in the table is the first one to walk to.
The Animal Watchlist: per-animal grazing, deviation from flock median, rumination and status
Per animal, the table shows grazing hours in the last 24 h, vs flock — the deviation from the flock median, flagged red beyond −30% — rumination and walking time, tag battery (amber when running low), and a status badge:
  • check (red) — significantly below the flock; go and look.
  • watch (amber) — drifting; keep an eye on tomorrow’s list.
  • ok (green) — behaving like the mob.
The comparison against the flock’s own median (rather than a fixed threshold) is deliberate: it self-corrects for weather, feed and season, which move the whole flock together — a sick animal moves alone.
The watchlist catches the slow declines that never fire an alert — the ewe that’s still upright but grazing two hours less each day. Alerts catch the acute events; this page catches everything gradual.
